Emanuele Casali was born in 1994 in Italy. He received his B.Sc. in 2016 in Physical Chemistry and his M.Sc. in 2018 in Organic Chemistry at the University of Pavia, Italy. In 2018, he started his Ph.D. studies at the same University in Computational and Theoretical Chemistry and Synthetical Organometallic Chemistry, supervised by Prof. Lucio Toma and Prof. Giuseppe Zanoni. In 2020 he was visiting Ph.D. Student within Prof. Fernanda Duarte’s Group at the University of Oxford, working on Machine Learning guided Catalyst Design. He graduated in 2022 and in the same year he was appointed as Subject Matter Expert by the Director of Department of Chemistry SSD/CHEM-05-A. Currently, he serves as a Contract Researcher working in Organic and Organometallic Chemical synthesis and Computational Chemistry, merging AI and ML in new automation protocols. He also serves as a lecturer in DIN Catalysis PhD Course on Machine Learning applied to the Chemical Synthesis and Biocatalysis (University of Perugia), in Chirality course for PhD in Physics (University of Pavia) and PSF Master (University of Pavia). Since 2025 he joined Chirality (Wiley Publications) as as Editorial Board Member. To date, he has co-supervised 14 master's students and 5 PhD students.
