Ervis Saraci was born in 1996 in Albania. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry in 2018 and his Master's Degree in Organic Chemistry in 2020 at the University of Pavia, under the supervision of Prof. Giuseppe Zanoni, working on the solvent-free synthesis of chalcones. In 2020, he started his Ph.D., funded by SpiroChem AG, at the same University under the supervision of Prof. David Sarlah. His work was focused on the synthesis of conformationally restricted amino acids and their application in the synthesis of drug analogues. Moreover, he performed the synthesis of novel Hygromycin A analogues employing benzene dearomatization chemistry. He graduated in 2024, and from the same year he serves as a PostDoctoral Researcher under the supervision of prof. Giuseppe Zanoni. Currently, he is working on the Total Synthesis of bromoallene-containing marine natural products and he is the Co-supervisor of a PhD project focused on the synthesis and radiobiology of new boron-based molecules for BNCT application.
