Matteo Principato

Matteo Principato was born in 2000 in Cosenza, Italy. He received his Bachelor's Degree cum laude in Chemistry in 2021 at the UNICAL (Università della Calabria) and his Master's Degree in Organic Chemistry cum laude in 2023 at the University of Pavia, under the supervision of Prof. Giuseppe Zanoni. During his bachelor thesis he worked on the synthesis of cyclopropyl spiroxindoles under the supervision of Prof. De Nino. For his Master’s Thesis, he focused on the desymmetrization of bisallenol with a gold base chiral catalyst. In 2024, he began his Ph.D. studies at the same university, under the joint supervision of Prof. Giuseppe Zanoni and Dr. Emanuele Casali. His doctoral work is currently focused on the synthesis of natural alkaloids. Alongside his research, Matteo serves as a teaching tutor in Organic Chemistry and NMR Spectrometry courses at the University of Pavia.
