Federica Plavi was born in 1998 in Italy. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry in 2021 and her Master's Degree in Organic Chemistry in 2023 at the University of Pavia, under the supervision of Prof. David Sarlah. Her thesis work was focused on the synthesis of conformationally restricted amino acids and their application in the synthesis of drug analogues. In 2023, she joined the National Ph.D. program in Catalysis. Her PhD project is in collaboration with CNAO (National Center for Oncological Hadrontherapy) at the same University under the supervision of Prof. Giuseppe Zanoni. Her work is focused on the synthesis and radiobiology of new boron-based molecules for BNCT (Boron Neutron Capture Therapy) applications. Moreover, she is also working on the total synthesis of IsoFuran-based Biomarkers using Asymmetric Tsuji-Trost Cyclization. Currently she has joined, as a visiting Ph.D. student, Prof. Varinder K. Aggarwal Group at the University of Bristol, where she is currently working on Lithiation-Borylation to form 1,1-bis Di-borons compounds.
